Athletes Dominate 'Dancing With the Stars' Season 24 Premiere

The Season 24 premiere of Dancing With the Stars was Monday evening. The new contestants performed their first dances, and while they all did an admirable job, it was the athletes in the group who really stole the show.

There is an old saying, “If you can walk, you can dance,” and as most athletes are really good at doing physical things, like walking, it only makes sense that they would be pretty great when it comes to dancing.

Olympic gymnast Simone Biles and her dance partner, Sasha Farber, got the highest score of the night with 32 out of a possible 40 points. With her impressive abilities and popularity, it is likely that Simone will be on the show for a while.

Other athletes also did well, too, like former New York Giants running back Rashad Jennings, who got 31 points from the judges.

The show also had its first major league baseball player, former Chicago Cubs catcher David Ross. He tied former Olympic figure skater Nancy Kerrigan with 28 points.

It looks like this season’s housewives and actors are gonna need to step up their game if they hope to catch the athletes.

Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8p.m. on ABC.
