Bruce Campbell Chides Comic-Con: 'It's Not All Fantasy and Pikachu'

Season 2 of the Starz series Ash vs Evil Dead promises to be even goofier and gorier than the first. We get to meet Ash’s father – played by the Six Million Dollar Man himself, Lee Majors – and all sorts of bloody new effects will be introduced.

Majors, who played a bionic superhero in the ‘70s and a heroic stuntman as The Fall Guy in the '80s, says he was never much of a horror guy, but ended up binge-watching all of season 1 thanks to Ash’s chainsaw and one-liners. Meanwhile, the rest of the cast talk about the nitty gritty of gore — including Dana DeLorenzo explaining the show’s truly impressive “deli slicer” kill.

Campbell also takes San Diego Comic Con to task for not letting them show the uncensored version of their trailer. He argues that horror should be represented as a genre and the convention shouldn’t be “all fantasy and Pikachu.” Thanks to him, at least the same can’t be said of television.

Season 2 of Ash vs Evil Dead premieres September 23 on Starz.
