Geena Davis Gives Voice to Girl Power on 'Annedroids'

When it comes to empowering young women, Geena Davis doesn’t kid around. The Oscar-winning actress was so disturbed by the lack of female characters in movies and on TV that in 2007, she founded The Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media (read more about it here). Now she’s using her star power to bring attention to Season 2 of Amazon’s tech-themed kids’ series Annedroids. The live action show follows the adventures of a young female scientist (Addison Holley) and her friends — some of whom are androids she’s created. In Season 2, which premieres later this summer, Anne returns to school at the Berrill-Ware International Online Academy for Next Generation Thinkers (man, that’s gotta be tough to fit on a T-shirt) — and Davis voices Professor Caroline Somerville, Anne’s headmaster at the school and her favorite teacher — of course.
