Andrew Dice Clay & Cat Cora From ‘My Kitchen Rules’ Serve Up Their Most Disastrous Meal Stories

Andrew Dice Clay ruled over packed arenas throughout the 1980s, but now, Fox will ask the most pertinent question: can he bring the same mastery to the stove? My Kitchen Rules pits celebrity duos against each other to see who can create the most delicious dish for professional chefs/judges Cat Cora and Curtis Stone.

Clay and his wife Valerie Silverstein will have to work together to wow the judges, but first they’ll have to get over the painful memory of a grilling incident gone awry. As Silverstein tells it, she almost served undercooked chicken to party guests, because she was so preoccupied with making side dishes. The standup tenders his stern warning, “Be careful with chicken. Chicken’s deadly,” before he busts out a trademark smile.

Despite Cora’s well known culinary skills, she has had her own difficulties with chicken, at one point nearly burning a kitchen down with a particularly greasy one. A fire extinguisher may have saved the day, but it couldn’t save her ruined meal.

The chef also offers how one might survive eating something disgusting: Wine! Take a bite, take a drink, take a bite, take a drink, drink, bite, repeat. And if you find yourself dining on foreign cuisine, imbibe the local spirits — nibble of raw fish followed by a big swig of sake. Explains Cora, “And you know what, eventually, you acquire the taste, and then you don’t need as much sake.”

My Kitchen Rules airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on Fox.
