Amy Sedaris is headed for TruTV.
The actress/comedian will star in an untitled comedy that has been picked up straight-to-series by the Turner-owned cable network.
The untitled half-hour project was created by and stars Strangers With Candy and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt star Sedaris. The series, which does not yet have a formal logline, has been described as featuring Sedaris and a mashup of hospitality, variety and talk-show formats. Each episode of the series will revolve around a traditional theme, such as fish, wood or grieving, and will combine Sedaris' humor and talents as a crafter, chef, baker and hostess.
"I've been doing this show in my head for years. It will be terrific to get it on TV so I can free up some wiggle room up in my skull," Sedaris said Saturday in a statement.
The comedy hails from PFFR, with Sedaris, Paul Dinello, Alyson Levy, John Lee and Vernon Chatman on board as executive producers.
"It only took one meeting for us to want this show out of Amy's head and on our air," said Marissa Ronca, executive vp and head of programming at truTV. "Amy is a creative genius who, throughout her career, has created authentic, original characters and worlds that comedy fans like us have loved. We're incredibly excited to bring her specific and hilarious brand of comedy to truTV."
The Sedaris vehicle joins a lineup that also includes Impractical Jokers, Adam Ruins Everything, Fameless and scripted comedy Those Who Can't.
