Amy Poehler and Seth Meyers Revive ‘Saturday Night Live’ Segment on ‘Late Night’

Amy Poehler stopped by Late Night, and she and Seth Meyers resurrected an old SNL Weekend Update desk bit the two used to do together called “Really!?!”

This time, it was about that Shakespeare in the Park production of Julius Caesar, which a few conservatives were protesting, because Caesar resembled President Trump and is murdered in the play. One protester even stormed the stage to try to “protect” the president.

“If you want to change this country, you just can’t sit around your house yelling at the TV,” Poehler said. “You have to get out there and yell at a play. Really!?!”

Protesters disrupted the run of the show, and the theater put out a statement about one of the incidents, stating, “While we are champions of the First Amendment, this interruption, unfortunately, was part of a paid strategy driven by social media.”

“Really!?!” was a hugely popular bit when Meyers and Poehler co-hosted Weekend Update, tackling topics like the congressional committee on birth control, Michael Vick’s arrest on marijuana charges, and Wall Street firms getting vaccines before hospitals and schools. And I, for one, am really happy they brought it back.
