‘American Gods’ Season Finale First Look: Mr. Nancy Is Back in Business

In the world of American Gods, it’s only appropriate that a spider deity would be making some extra bucks on the side as a tailor. Sure enough, that’s where we find Anansi, aka Mr. Nancy (Orlando Jones), in the freshman season finale of Bryan Fuller’s adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s bestselling novel. In this exclusive clip from the episode, which airs June 18 at 9 p.m. on Starz, road-trip partners Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane) and Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle) enjoy Nancy’s hospitality — and his sweet taste in threads — while they discuss their next steps. (Warning: The NSFW clip contains several variations on the f-bomb.)

Specifically, Shadow wants to know how they’re going to move on from the fact that he just saw Wednesday chop off a guy’s head in the sixth episode. “Spill blood together; that binds you to him,” Mr. Nancy tells a very irate Moon, who would much rather sever his ties to his employer after watching him sever the Roman god Vulcan’s head. “You just gonna piss me off, so I think that violated the terms of our agreement.” Even the promise of a Nancy-woven suit can’t seem to win him over. C’mon, Shadow, at least try it on. You’re gonna like the way you look — Mr. Nancy guarantees it.

American Gods airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on Starz.
