AMC has renewed “Ride with Norman Reedus” for a second season.

The unscripted travel series, featuring “The Walking Dead” star, has landed a six-episode order for its sophomore season, slated to debut in 2017.

Season 2 will feature Reedus — who besides acting, is a motorcycle and travel enthusiast — as he takes viewers back on the open road to journey to amazing places and sample local cultures.

“The reaction to ‘Ride’ has been incredibly positive. I am glad to be able to show audiences a different side of me and we have gotten a great response to the candid conversation and the fact that it’s obviously not scripted,” said Reedus. “I feel like we are just getting started and there are so many amazing places we have yet to go – the opportunities for the show are endless.”

“We’re so excited to continue this journey with Norman Reedus. Norman’s love of motorcycles and adventure, and his ability to connect with people are the drivers of this series, and we look forward to more great rides next season,” said Joel Stillerman, president of original programming and development for AMC and SundanceTV.

The first season, which aired this summer, featured actor Balthazar Getty, filmmaker Robert Rodriguez, Mastodon singer and guitarist Brent Hinds, artist Jake Lamagno, custom bike builder Jason Paul Michaels, and artist and biker Imogen Lehtonen as they visited settings including Death Valley, the Pacific Coast Highway, Appalachia, Louisiana, Texas, and the Florida Keys. The first season also featured actor Peter Fonda, whose film “Easy Rider” is what first inspired Reedus to start riding motorcycles.

Speaking to Variety about the show, at the time of the first season’s debut, Reedus expressed his passion for motorcycles, saying: “It’s really me geeking out. I’m not an expert in any manner. I just like them, and I like riding them, and I like hearing about them, but I’m not a gearhead. I don’t know things that other people know, so I’m learning them for the first time.”

Ride with Norman Reedus” hails from Left/Right Productions. Reedus serves as an executive producer, along with Ken Druckerman, Banks Tarver, Anneka Jones.

Reedus’ other AMC show, “The Walking Dead,” returns with its seventh season next month. Check out a trailer here.
