Al Roker has first-pitch fail with N.Y. Mets

Summer brings barbecues, trips to the beach — and most importantly, first-pitch fails at baseball games. Today’s Al Roker joined the New York Mets in throwing out the ceremonial first pitch, and the weatherman didn’t exactly bring the heat.

Roker went to Citi Field and suited up in a Mets jersey for the occasion, and even got pointers from the players. However, all the tips must have fallen out of his head like the ball fell out of his hand. Roker trotted out to the mound, wound up, and threw a pitch that buzzed right past home plate … on the fourth bounce. It ended up slowly rolling to the catcher.

Roker laughed off the poor pitch. Sitting in the stadium seats after the pitch, he said, “Next time, I’m going to have one of the New York Mets do weather. Let’s see how they do.”
