Actress Featured in Trump/Bush Video Speaks Out on ‘Today’

Arianne Zucker, the Days of Our Lives actress who has been thrust into the spotlight after appearing in the infamous video in which Donald Trump and Billy Bush have a conversation that demeans and objectifies women, including Zucker herself, spoke with NBC News for Today. She talked about seeing the video for the first time and said that, having worked in the entertainment business for so long, she was not surprised by the language.

When asked if she was shocked, Zucker replied: “Not with that type of personality, I wasn’t shocked. Which is probably why it doesn’t mean a lot to me.”

Bush, who was working for Access Hollywood at the time and is now on suspension from Today for his part in the video, has been accused of egging Trump on. Bush can also be heard in the video joining in on the derogatory dialogue about women. But Zucker, who was unaware of the conversation that had taken place just moments earlier, said she felt nothing but professionalism from Bush.

“Who knows how he was feeling when he walked off the bus or what he needed to do in the relationship. Because when he came off the bus with Mr. Trump, I had no feeling but professional. That’s it,” said Zucker.

In the video, Bush asks Zucker to give Trump a hug, and then asks for one himself soon after getting off the bus. Later, while heading to the Days of Our Lives set, Bush asks Zucker who she’d pick if the had to choose between himself and Trump. Though the comments had crossed the line between professional to incredibly unprofessional, those two exchanges may have stuck out more for Zucker had she been aware of the conversation Trump and Bush had just had on the bus.

Zucker is now the mother of a 6-year-old daughter and hopes that her daughter will learn something from this uproar.

Zucker said: “If she’s learned anything from this, how can she share this with other women or young girls or whoever is around her? Young boys even. I think young men can learn from this of how not to be in front of women or when they’re speaking about women.”
