ABC Issues Apology For Priyanka Chopra Photo Error
After mistaking a photo of Indian actress Yukta Mookhey for one of its Quantico star Priyanka Chopra, ABC apologized to Chopra on Twitter this afternoon.
The mistake happened during a video promo for Chopra’s upcoming interview on Nightline. The footage included a photo of Mookhey when she was crowned Miss World in 1999. The error resulted in part because Bollywood star Chopra herself was crowned Miss World the next year. But it is unfortunately timed, as the segment, titled “How Quantico Star Priyanka Chopra Dealt With Race Issues,” discusses Chopra’s time in the United States as well as her experience with racism.
Fans were the first to note the error on twitter, leading to the following apology:
