7-Year-Old Rapper Shows Off His Skills on ‘Ellen’

Young Dylan, a 7-year-old rapper from Annapolis, Md., joined Ellen on Monday and wowed the crowd with his skills. His dad gave him the name Young Dylan, because it describes him right now, and he plans to keep the name as he gets older and continues to make a career for himself in rap. He explained to host Ellen DeGeneres why he got into rap at such a young age.

“It’s because I like all these rappers, and they gave me talent, and I got the support from these people,” said Dylan before waving to the crowd.

As for why he wants to be a rapper when he’s older, Young Dylan had a very good reason.

“All the rappers, they get a lot of mansions,” Young Dylan said, matter-of-factly.

He said he wants 300 mansions, but not all for himself. He said he’d use the mansions for orphanages or to house poor people. He also said he wants motorcycles and cars that he can paint superheroes on, because he likes all sorts of superheroes.

For his performance, Young Dylan climbed onto the hood of a classic car and spit the first couple lines from rapper Too Short’s 2006 hit Blow the Whistle, then rapped for about a minute for the roaring crowd.
