'Tis the Season for These 'AFV' Santa Fails
It’s a rite of passage for any child who celebrates Christmas: The terrifying experience of sitting on Santa’s lap for the first time. Whether they’re at a mall or a holiday party or even in their own home, a child’s first brush with that jolly old fellow booming “Ho! Ho! Ho!” from behind a white beard can be the stuff nightmares are made of. Of course, we’d all be lying if we said we didn’t find these Santa’s-lap freakouts just a wee bit funny — which is why our friends at AFV have compiled this montage of festive Kris Kringle fails. In addition to the terrified tots, the video features plenty of other Santa-related mishaps, like collapsing chairs, toppling Christmas trees, and out-of-the-mouths-of-babes brutal honesty, like the kid who tells St. Nick, “Boy do you have bad breath!” (I think we know what that kid got in his stocking that Christmas.)

Besides Santa’s lap, the other high-risk holiday location is the Christmas tree itself — especially if you own cats. Whether they like to climb them, tug at the ornaments, or take a nap nestled in their branches, it usually results in one thing: A big mess.
