'The Flash' Sneak Peek: 'Zoom Destroyed Me'

Barry’s rapid cellular regeneration may be able to heal his body, but will it be able to save The Flash? Central City’s hero has been beaten before, but last week on The Flash, Zoom broke him profoundly and publicly. Will Barry run away like Earth-2’s Flash, Jay Garrick? Is there anywhere he can run to?

For a moment there last week, it almost seemed like Barry had managed to outthink the speed demon. By fighting him in complete freefall, the villain’s speed advantage was negated. But once they landed, it was clear that Jay Garrick was right: Barry can’t match Zoom. Nobody can.

Barry’s shaky confidence has always been his Achilles heel, but suffering a defeat that big and that public — Zoom dragged his broken body in front of both news cameras and the police department — has truly left him at rock bottom. It’ll take more than a pep talk from Joe or Iris to bring him back, and the Central Cities of both worlds may not have time to spare.
