'Saturday Night Live' #TBT: Happy Thanksgiving, Kids

Thanksgiving is a holiday for timeless traditions as seen in this Saturday Night Live classic clip from 1979. It features SNL legends Bill Murray, Jane Curtin, Laraine Newman, and Paul Shaffer as four adults who are banished to the kids table in their Aunt Judy’s basement on the best Thursday all year.

“I don’t believe we get suckered into this every year,” Murray says sourly, as the others start digging in.

Newman replies that it’s a nice tradition for them to still be sitting at the kids table.

But soon enough, they start regressing back to childish behavior. Murray punches Curtin. Schaffer starts mimicking Newman. And the girls start screaming for Aunt Judy (Bea Arthur, in her only time hosting the show).

And when Aunt Judy comes downstairs? Well, the kids should know better than to call her downstairs!

Saturday Night Live returns with new episodes Dec. 5, when Ryan Gosling hosts with musical guest Leon Bridges.
