'Saturday Night Live' #TBT: Drake's Resolution Revolution

Drake is many things: A rapper. An actor. A diss record maker. A Canadian. And a comedian.

He’s hosting and serving as musical guest on this week’s Saturday Night Live, and this isn’t the first time. Back in 2014, he did the same thing, and showed off some pretty hilarious chops, like in this throwback clip.

This digital short music video titled “Resolution Revolution” features Drake, Taran Killam, Jay Pharoah, and Sasheer Zamata rapping to a tune about their New Year’s resolutions. It starts innocuously enough — Killam wants to get fit and cut out sugar… until he gets a donut craving and starts smashing them into his mouth. Drake wants to stop drinking… until he happens into a bar, and then the champagne starts a-flowing.

Things turn raunchy with Pharoah’s resolution — giving up sex toys — but the most hilarious bit is the group’s resolution to give up cosplay. Drake throwing lightning strike spells while carrying a wizard’s staff is just too good.

Watch Drake host and sing again this weekend on SNL, and tune in for the Season 41 finale on May 21 with host Fred Armisen and musical guest Courtney Barnett.
