'Saturday Night Live' #TBT: Charlize Theron Rules the Mother's Day Game Show

When Charlize Theron isn’t Furiosa-ly racing across the desert or casting evil curses, she’s a regular mom. Her son, 4-year-old Jackson, might be in love with her The Huntsmen: Winter’s War co-star Emily Blunt, but we’re sure he’ll remember his true loyalties come Mother’s Day in a few weeks.

Theron tends to go for big action flicks or darker dramas, but she’s got comedy chops, as she proved in 2014 when she hosted Saturday Night Live. In this throwback clip, she plays a mousy daughter named Trish, who vies against her siblings in the “Mother’s Day Game Show.”

Mom Joanne (Kate McKinnon) brings on her three kids as the contestants. Their questions include “Who’s that gal I like?” (answer: Edie Falco) and “Who in Hollywood do I think is gay?” (answer: everybody). And in the final lightning round, “What’d She Do?,” the kids have to figure out what sin each of their mom’s friends committed recently (hint: always say hello in Safeway, Bunny!).

Theron next stars in The Huntsmen: Winter’s War, and is joining the cast of Furious 8. Saturday Night Live returns May 7 with host Brie Larson and musical guest Alicia Keys.
