'Saturday Night Live' #TBT: All Hail the Queens of Comedy, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler

Queens of comedy Tina Fey and Amy Poehler return to their old Saturday Night Live stomping grounds this week to host the last episode of 2015. We are not worthy!

The women are joining their comedic forces together in the new movie Sisters, just as they’ve done to hilarious effect many times before — hosting the Golden Globes three years in a row, in the movie Baby Mama, and of course, on SNL.

Fey and Poehler shared a multitude of memorable moments on SNL. They co-anchored “Weekend Update” for two years before Fey left the show to create 30 Rock. They made instantly viral videos like “Mom Jeans.” But the greatest example of their awesome partnership is the 2008 cold open sketch where Fey played Sarah Palin and Poehler played Hillary Clinton.

You know it, everyone knows it — Fey returned to SNL to host the show and her impersonation of Palin was uncanny. In fact, she was so convincing that the line “I can see Russia from my house!” was repeated as something Palin herself actually said (she did not). Poehler is also top-notch as Clinton, and with the former secretary of state running for president, there’s a good chance both women will reprise their roles in a sketch this weekend. That would be a holiday treat, indeed.

Watch Fey and Poehler host Saturday Night Live with musical guest Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band Saturday, Dec. 19 on NBC.
