'Portlandia' Goes For Sex Appeal in Season 6

Looks like Portlandia co-creators Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein are making their professional relationship personal. In this just-released teaser trailer for the sixth season of their IFC comedy series, the duo are seen slipping between the sheets to take care of some non-writing business. Things get off to an awkward start, leading Brownstein to suggest that they “ease into it” by discussing how exactly they want to do the deed. “Maybe dry hump?” Armisen suggests. “I was thinking maybe hands out to the side,” Brownstein counters.

Naturally, the situation only gets weirder (and funnier) from there. In February, IFC renewed Portlandia for two more seasons, despite the fact that the stars’ schedules have grown more jam-packed in recent years. Brownstein has a recurring role on the Emmy-winning Amazon series, Transparent, and she spent much of 2015 touring with her reformed rock band, Sleater-Kinney. Armisen, meanwhile, is the bandleader on Late Night with Seth Meyers and stars in another IFC series, Documentary Now!, alongside Bill Hader. Despite their busy schedules, it’s nice to see that he and his partner still make time for their Portlandia baby…as well each other.

Portlandia premieres Jan. 21 at 10 p.m. on IFC.
