'Outlander' Sets Season 2 Premiere Date, Releases New Versailles Art

If you’re an Outlander fan waiting with bated (whiskey) breath for news of the season 2 start date, you can finally exhale.

Starz announced today that Gaelic will meet Gallic on April 9. The Golden Globe-nominated show about a time-traveling nurse and her ginger Scottish squeeze will return to the Saturdays at 9 p.m. slot and season 2 will consist of 13 episodes.

It will pick up with Jamie (Sam Heughan) and a pregnant Claire (Caitriona Balfe) heading to France to attempt to infiltrate the Jacobites, stop the bloody battle of Culloden, rewrite history, and save Highland life and culture.

And by the looks of the new teaser art, which was also unveiled this morning, they are going to do all that while looking like a million livres. No dig deal. The photo, which proudly puts Balfe’s come-hither décolletage on display on the steps of Versailles, was actually shot in Scotland.

You still have almost two months to wait before finding out if their babymoon-turned-insurgence will be successful, but at least now you can start your countdown clock and clear your spring Saturdays.

Outlander premieres Saturday, April 9 at 9 p.m. on Starz.
