'Fresh Off the Boat' Sneak Peek: Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis Help Eddie Become Part of Rhythm Nation

Damn, baby! Valentine’s Day just got a whole lot better for Eddie Huang and his crew — and they have music legends Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis to thank for it.

In this exclusive sneak peek from the Fresh Off the Boat episode “Love and Loopholes,” Eddie (Hudson Yang) and his pals Alison (Isabella Alexander) and Trent (True Detective’s Trevor Larcum) are in a serious funk because their tickets to Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation concert got stolen. While Trent tries to cheer the gang up outside the concert venue by singing Miss Jackson’s 1989 hit “Escapade,” it just makes things worse. That’s when the iconic music producers turn up and offer the trio VIP tickets to Janet’s concert for the following night.

Not only do Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis make cameos in this hilarious episode of the ABC sitcom, but 27 years after Rhythm Nation ruled the airwaves, Janet’s new song, “Dammn Baby” is the soundtrack to the episode’s end tag. The clip features Eddie and his pals jamming with Taylor Hatala and Kyndall Harris, two young dancers from Janet Jackson’s current “Unbreakable” tour.

Check out both clips for a good time — and leave your worries behind.

The Fresh Off the Boat episode “Love and Loopholes” airs Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
