An estimated 32.2 million people tuned in to watch Trump’s speech on the final night of the 2016 Republican National Convention, across 10 commercially-supported networks, Nielsen reports. That’s up compared to the final night of the RNC in 2012, when 30.3M watched Mitt Romney’s nomination acceptance speech on the final day of the RNC across ABC, CBS, CNBC, CNN, Fox News, Current TV, MSNBC, MUN2, NBC, PBS and Univision.

And while Arizona senator and longtime Vietnam POW McCain might not be a hero according to Trump — because he got captured — he was a a bigger ratings draw. In 2008, an averages of 38.9M watched McCain’s GOP nominee speech on the final day of that RNC, according to Nielsen tracking of ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, FNC, MSNBC, Univision and Telemundo.
This year Trump’s numbers are cumed across ABC, CBS, NBC, Univision, CNN, Fox Business Network, FNC, MSNBC, CNBC and NBC Universo, Nielsen said.
