There was a bit of confusion when NBC announced that their Thursday hit 30 Rock had been renewed but with a catch-- only 13 episodes of the Emmy-winning show would air next season. Today the network revealed that the upcoming abbreviated season will indeed be their last.
Keeping it short and sweet, an NBC spokeswoman told the press: "30 Rock has been picked up for its final season."
Until today, there had been much speculation as to whether or not the series would return for another go as Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin's contracts are up after season seven. NBC will unveil their full new prime-time schedules on Sunday.
30 Rock premiered in 2006 and won numerous awards along the way thanks in part to the show's creator-star Tina Fey and co-star Alec Baldwin.
