Your 2016 Winter TV Preview of New and Returning Shows
It’s a new year, and 2016 brings us a slew of new shows to watch, dissect, binge, and obsess over.
Mega stars Jennifer Lopez and Joan Allen headline the thrillers Shades of Blue and The Family, while spinoffs Legends of Tomorrow and Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders extend familiar universes. FX and Ryan Murphy take us back to the mid-’90s with a dramatized look at “The Trial of the Century” in American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson, while MTV leaps into the future with the sci-fi/fantasy epic The Shannara Chronicles.

And we can also look forward to new seasons of returning favorites, like the acclaimed Better Call Saul and The Americans. The characters of Girls are still trying to navigate life as twentysomethings in New York, while the 40-year-old lead of Younger tries to do the same. And the walking disasters of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia are just trying to stay upright. Cheers to the new year and new TV!
