WATCH: Miss the Blood Moon? Check Out This Sweet Time-Lapse Video of the Eclipse Over L.A.

Was the moon on fire last night? Was it embarrassed over something? Nah, not really. The reason for its temporary reddish hue was a lunar eclipse, or if you prefer its very Halloween-ready nickname, a “Blood Moon.”

Blood Moons happen roughly two times a year the last one happened April 15 when the Earth stands completely between the full Moon and Sun, deflecting the Sun’s light.

This latest lunar eclipse could be seen in Australia, Asia, and North and South America. This time-lapse video was taken at the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles.
