WATCH: Don’t Look Down: Terrifying View from World’s Second Tallest Building
No elevator? No problem.
Daredevil Keow Wee Loong secretly climbed to the top of the Ping An Finance Center in Shenzhen, China. The building, which is still under construction, is 660 meters (2,165 feet) tall, making it the second tallest building in the world. Did we mention that he didn’t use any safety gear?
To prove his amazing feat, Loong captured the entire climb using a GoPro camera mounted to his body. He also snapped these breathtaking photos from the top.

On his Facebook page, Loong shares some of the difficulties he faced on the climb, after sneaking into the building at midnight. “I accidentally bumped into a guard at level 55 and he alerted the guard on the ground floor to come up and look for me floor by floor,” he wrote. “It was like playing hide and seek in a 115-story building with the guard, they were looking for a needle in a haystack.”
After 23 hours of dodging guards, Loong made it to the top. But he didn’t just do the climb for fun. He climbed in remembrance of the 162 people who died when AirAsia Flight QZ8501 crashed last December.
“I’m Malaysian and is just sad to see so many of our planes crash one after another,” he wrote on Facebook.
