Drivers on the Garden State Parkway got a Christmas surprise on Thursday morning.

Near exit 135, someone changed the road sign from Clark/Westfield to “Clark Griswold.” For those of you who are fans of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, you know that Clark Griswold is the beloved father played by Chevy Chase.  So this prank is not only logistically impressive, it’s also pretty hilarious.

State Police Sgt. Gregory Williams confirmed that the sign change was real and not the work of Photoshop.”We are aware it’s floating around the Internet,” Williams told NJ.com. “It was called in this morning, and the Turnpike Authority took it down.”

We know this falls in the category of vandalism, but you must admit, it’s pretty clever.
