Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

The planets are all crowding around you this week, Scorpio, making you feel like royalty. The Sun in your sign likes things hot and spicy, Venus loves beauty and balance, and Saturn has an affinity for architecture and history. Honor all of these, plus your Scorpio love of mystery and the unknown, by spending a little time checking out some of the oldest temples and palaces of the Incan and Mayan worlds. Head to the mysterious Xunantunich Mayan ruins in Belize, where there is said to be a ghost! Or work your way up to Machu Picchu in Peru, known as the “kingdom of the clouds,” and marvel at the “ashlar” technique used to fit the stones so tightly together without the use of mortar that you can’t even slide a needle in between them. Be amazed by the ancients this week, Scorpio.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

You’re stuck in the middle of a Mars and Saturn sandwich, Sagittarius, and it’s making you a little claustrophobic. You need to go far, far away where you can stretch out and breathe deeply without anyone crowding you! Claim your spot on the sand in Smuggler’s Cove Beach on the north side of Tortola in the British Virgin Islands — it’s a beach so secluded that it is still fairly off the radar. Or hop on a longboat and sail to Koh Rong Island in Cambodia, one of Southeast Asia’s most beautiful white-sand beaches that is off the beaten path. This week, be where you can remain as anonymous as you’d like, because sometimes a little “me” time is just what the stars have ordered.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Adventurous Mars has recently joined mysterious Pluto in your sign, making you eager to journey to extreme locales. Hike through Utah’s Monument Valley, and be amazed by the red earth and sandstone formations that make this one of the most beautiful spots in the world. Or witness the full moon this week over the Mars-like terrain of the Valle de la Muerte or over the lunar landscape of the Valle de la Luna, both just outside of San Pedro de Atacama, Chile. Go far around the globe this week, Capricorn, and feel like you’ve voyaged into outer space!

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Mars’s movement is putting you in retreat mode this week, Aquarius. You need to truly get away and just chill. Eleuthera in the Bahamas, whose name means “freedom,” could be just the spot for you, with its gentle waves and secluded beaches. Or take a run along the beach at Big Reef Bay on Peter Island in the British Virgin Islands, and spend the rest of the day being pampered as you watch the yachts sail by. Not a bad week at all!

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

Forget fishes — swim with the pigs! (Photo: Cdorobek/Flickr)

We start the week with the Moon and Neptune in your sign, bringing you an ocean adventure to make even Poseidon jealous! Swim with a pod of spinner dolphins in Oahu, or watch some friendly green turtles get the algae cleaned off their shells by some hungry fish in Hawaii’s Turtle Town Maui. Or jump off your tour boat into the warm waters of Pig Beach as you swim with some fantastic aquatic swine, the sole inhabitants of Big Major Cay (also known as Pig Island) in the Exuma Cays of the Bahamas. They will keep you smiling and giggling happily all week long.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

The Moon in your sign early in the week and Mercury sitting opposite you are giving you a lot to say, chatty Aries. So send some messages, make some dates, and set some time aside to just connect with friends (and maybe to vent a little too). A nice walk along the autumn beaches of Nantucket will be a perfect spot to let it all out, while a drink and a bite back at a local pub in Boston, where everybody knows your name, will warm your heart, fill your belly, and bring you back to you again.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

The full Moon in your sign this week and Venus sitting across from you are signaling that love is in the air, romantic Taurus! Spend some quality time with your special someone on the Playa del Amor on the Sea of Cortez in Cabo San Lucas. Or go for a romantic sunset-to-moonlit cruise along the Bosphorus in Turkey, where Istanbul’s Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia outline the horizon. These beautiful surroundings, however, will be nothing compared to who you are with!

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

The Moon in your sign at the end of the week is letting you know it’s time to slow down. Escape to Santa Barbara for an easy morning horseback ride along the Pacific and then some shopping on State Street. Or wander along the charming ivy-covered streets of Lourmarin in Provence, where you can take some time to smell the lavender or pop into the many galleries sprinkled throughout this quaint town. Be unhurried and enjoy yourself this week, busy Gemini.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Feisty Mars connects to your partnerships for the next month, Cancer, potentially creating moments of frustration with loved ones. Try to remember that Mars likes to stir the pot and create friction in order for change and growth to occur. Luckily, artistic and loving Venus is helping you take Mars’s fire and turn it into something productive and beautiful. Pick up the palmas (handclaps) as you take to the floor to try flamenco dancing in Andalusia in southern Spain, where the energetic dance originated. Or join arm in arm with friends and dance the sirtáki in Cyprus. We really are all just here doing a dance, so we might as well join in with each other and make it special!

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

Angel Falls (Photo: ENT108/Flickr)

Mars’s recent move is giving you a little extra oomph and sizzle this week while the other planets are beckoning you to get out there and have some fun! If the word “extreme” pairs perfectly with the word “sports” in your mind, then why not try bungee jumping off Angel Falls in Venezuela? The view is utterly spectacular! Or if that feels like a bit much at the moment, you’re sure to find a happy compromise with a barefoot run along the white sands of Florida’s Siesta Key, where the 99 percent pure quartz sand of this top-ranked beach will keep your tootsies as cool as cucumbers. Either way, don’t forget the sunscreen, fire child!

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Love is in the air for you, Virgo, as Venus and the Moon ask you to get creative and expressive with your affection. Why not read one of Petrarch’s sonnets to your love as you sip some Chianti in Tuscany, which is simply oozing with romance? Or take a sunset walk along the beach in Cancun and stop to write an impromptu “I love you” in the sand? It’s not silly, Virgo; it’s love! Jump into it this week, heart first.

Mars’s recent shift is making you antsy to get moving, and to move fast! Climb aboard the Japanese shinkansen train as you journey at lightning speed past snow-covered Mount Fuji en route from Tokyo to Nagoya. Or hop into a flaming-red Ferrari and zip along the fabulous Amalfi Coast, where the road itself is the destination. Get ready for some fast and furious fun this week, Libra!
