This column is for the week of September 8–14, 2014

Aries

The Moon in your sign midweek is making you stir. Mars and Saturn are sitting opposite you, pushing to make changes happen here and now. Uranus in your sign is urging you to go about things in a new and unusual way. Hop on a helicopter to gain a whole new perspective as you sail above the spectacular crop circles in Wiltshire County, England. Or stay on the ground and unravel the mysteries within, as you walk a meditative labyrinth in Northern California. Throw caution to the wind, and try on a new way of looking at things this week, Aries.

Taurus

The Moon in your sign over the weekend is finally giving you some time to rest, relax, and rejuvenate. Breathe in the natural aromatherapy from the fields of flowers surrounding the hilltop city of Eze en Provence, or head to Manzanillo on the Mexican Riviera, where you can relax on the crescent-shaped beach, fish in the Pacific, or hike the Sierra Madre Mountains. However active you are (or aren’t!), make sure you work out the kinks of the last few weeks, and you will feel free and open, Taurus.

Gemini

The Moon’s movement this week is urging you to spend some time with friends this week, and then save the weekend for yourself, Gemini. Find the fun and the well-deserved break along the beaches of Cancún and Tulum in Mexico or the shores of Lake Ohrid in Macedonia, a hidden jewel of Europe. The long walks will help you to connect with loved ones, and will also let you work through whatever is bubbling up for you this week.

Cancer

This is the week to start planning for the future, Cancer, so spin the globe and see where you will be off to next! But it’s not all fun and games for you these days. You are a busy bee making work connections. Go on a work retreat in Ojo Caliente, N.M., with its hot springs and mud baths (both great for business meetings, incidentally), or book a Tuscan villa where you can convene over bruschetta and espresso. It doesn’t have to be all nose to the grindstone. Make sure you find time to enjoy yourself even if you are making deals.

Leo

Take advantage of the energy Mars has been offering you, Leo, before it shifts at the end of the week. Fiery Mars has been challenging you to bust out of your comfort zone and take a good look at how you live and how you express yourself. Gain a new perspective as you ride high above Snowmass, Colo., during the famous hot air balloon festival. Or break out of old habits that don’t reflect the true you as you bungee jump from the Kawarau Bridge in Queenstown, New Zealand. Trust in yourself, Leo. You got this.

Virgo

The Moon and Neptune are sitting opposite you asking you to pick up that phone (or text, Facebook, tweet, whatever works!), and make yourself available, Virgo! You have the planets on your side to be social and, dare I say, the life of the party! Let your hair down in Bangkok, or dance the night away in Paris, the City of Light, this week. Allow yourself the love and affection coming your way. You’ve worked long and hard to get here, so just enjoy it all!

Libra

You’re in a bit of a push-pull these days, Libra. Some of the planets want you to be seen and heard, while others are asking you to step out of the spotlight and slow things down a bit. Do your best to schedule some alone time this week to keep that necessary balance you always seek. Carve out some time for yourself while you walk through a vineyard in Napa Valley, and then join the crowd afterward. Enjoy some crazy karaoke with friends in the Harajuku district of Tokyo, and then some time with your inner circle at the top of the Tokyo Tower. This week, make sure to honor your friendships but mostly yourself.

Scorpio

Take this last week with Mars in your sign to make sure you’ve gotten the lessons and gifts its been presenting to you over the past six weeks. What has been sparked in you recently? What can you release now and forever? What new path have you chosen? Let go of old passions and clear the slate for the new ones to come flooding in, as you swim beneath the waterfalls in Erawan National Park in Thailand. Or check out your great new horizon at Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. Release the old and reveal the new path, Scorpio.

Sagittarius

You’re stepping into the spotlight at the end of this week, Sagittarius. Mars makes a dramatic move into your sign on Sunday for the next month and a half. Get ready for it! It’s going to feel like it’s coming out of left field for you, since you’ve been in a bit of a cocoon lately. So this week, before it makes its bold move, take a moment to make sure you’ve enjoyed your alone time. Have some hammock time in Sihanoukville, Cambodia, while you reflect on the past six weeks of deep transformation and inner change. Or take a good look around your cocoon and crack it in half at Split Apple Rock in Tasman Bay, New Zealand. Then get ready to hit the ground running!

Take part in an Aboriginal dance where gratitude is expressed in the Tiwi Islands near Darwin, Australia. Or kayak in a Greenland bay and give thanks for all the beauty and abundance our world has to offer. Once you show gratefulness for even the smallest things in your every day, only more support will flood in. It’s just the nature of it all.
