This #travelscope is for the week of June 23-29, 2014

Aries: The water-loving Moon and playful Mercury are romping around in your field, Aries. Venus is telling you to grab your friends and head for the beach! This is the week to ride the wind and stay close to the water. Try your hand at a friendly game of beach paddle in Mykonos. Or why not windsurf in Wellington, New Zealand? Keep it light and keep it fun!

Taurus: Love and kindness are your guides. With Venus and the Moon in your sign early in the week, take some time to express your heartfelt gratitude to those who have been there for you. Reconnect with your favorite Leo friend since those friendly lions have lots of fun coming their way in some of the same places as you this week! You could spend some time underwater with some happy manta rays in the Maldives. Or get friendly with the locals in Dublin where you can’t go far without seeing smiling Irish eyes. Pretty soon, you’ll be smiling from ear to ear as well.

Gemini: Mercury has been Retrograde in your sign mucking things up a bit, so it’s understandable if you’ve felt a little off lately. The winds are a-changing and you are in luck. Venus, the Moon, and Mercury are all landing in your sign this week, which adds up to a lot of love and fun coming your way, Gemini! Spain and Portugal are fantastic spots for you this week. The sun, the mountains, the ocean, the food and the history… everything you could possibly want is right there. Add your favorite pals and voila! Best. Week. Ever.

Cancer: With the Sun entering your sign and Jupiter still hanging around giving you a nice boost, it’s time for you to shine and be noticed! Stand up strong and tall because you are getting lots of pats on the back this week. Why not take that “lucky” streak all the way to Las Vegas, Nevada where you can shine all day and night? Or Jackson Hole, Wyoming is more low-key on the glitz and blitz, but those mountains and that summer terrain are definitely sparkling. You can turn it all the way up or keep it on the down low — either way, you will be noticed, so might as well embrace the stage!

Leo: Venus and Mercury are showering you with love and friendship this week, while Mars is giving you the energy to keep up. The Sun and Jupiter still want you to take a little time to yourself though, so make sure you get in your morning meditation or walk through nature. Ireland has the most stunning landscape to help you escape for a little while into your own space, and Dublin offers plenty of fun both day and night. Or take a retreat with friends in Ojai, California, where you can do your deeper work on a yoga mat, and then enjoy the art in the many Venus-approved galleries. Your best Taurus pal might be just the person to connect with since you share places and have a similar outlook this week, one of giving and receiving love and friendship.

Virgo: Loving your daily life is the key to having it all, and work plays a big role in this, especially lately, dear Virgo. Even play might feel like work for you sometimes (or maybe it’s just because you never stop working?). If you are feeling overwhelmed and tired, it’s time to take some time away to gain some perspective, restructure, realign, and create that dream. Hawaii is calling you! (Yes!) And so are the Greek Isles! (OMG, yes!) If this is what your time away can look like, just imagine what every day can be.

Libra: You still have the wild Mars-North Node of the Moon connection at play, and now you have Venus fueling your travel bug. Watch out, world! Libra is on a mission for some exotic fun! Wanna see some dragons? Visit Indonesia’s Komodo National Park and get up close with the largest lizards on the planet! (Just kidding. Don’t get too close — they might eat you.) Want to feel like you are seeing the world through rose-colored glasses, only minus the glasses? Then head Down Under and be overwhelmed by the super-saturated sky and the impossible red of Uluru / Ayers Rock, Australia. Take the norm and flip it on its head this week, oh balanced one!

Scorpio: Pluto, your ruling planet, is asking you to be extra mindful of how you think and express yourself. How? Learn to meditate. Take up yoga. Try your hand at painting, creative writing or photography as you document the wonders you see in Polynesia (and there are as many as there are islands!). Or hike the pilgrim’s path in the north of Spain along the Camino de Santiago de Compostela. The point? It’s time to control that jumpy “monkey mind” we humans have, and to become super focused and clear in how you engage in the world. Then see how Pluto transforms your mind and you.

Sagittarius: You’ve been making lots of great connections lately, Sag, but now the planets are asking you to take an extra long and deep look at what is going on in some of your relationships. Whatever isn’t supporting you, it’s time to for a change. A nice long drive along the Pacific Coast Highway can give you the space you need to figure out the next step of your journey. Or a dip in the waters of Trinidad where you can swim with sea turtles may also give you the perspective you need on who’s joining you on this next stage. Whether the karma is up in the union or just an aspect of it, it’s time for you to make the necessary changes. You will feel much lighter and clearer this way.

Capricorn: Time to rethink your work expression, Capricorn. Are you loving it? No? You need to be. Things are shifting soon so take the time now to check in on what isn’t working for you. You have supportive partners out there so link up with these like-minded souls. Just remember: Venus still wants you to honor your daily personal time, so keep that chiseled out in your schedule. The quiet giants of California’s Redwood Forest or the openness of the Masai Mara National Reserve on the plains of Kenya will hold the space you need for yourself. The perspective you need on career will quickly follow suit.

Aquarius: Streamline yourself, Aquarius. Get things in order with work, your personal life and yes, your playtime. You need to be well-organized these days if you want to be in the natural flow with the planets. India will show you how to release the extra and be in alignment with your higher purpose. Or spend the week hiking in the mountains of Montana, and things should be pretty darn clear by the week’s end. The key to it all: drop the excesses and you will feel like a million bucks!

Pisces: Tune into your heart — your true home — this week as you travel to ancient lands and realms. Ta Prohm Temple in Cambodia will simply blow your mind. And the grotto of Lourdes in the south of France will ground you. You are finding your deepest connections on the earth and in yourself. It’s exciting to say the least.
