This Is the Worst Safety Video EVER? (Hint: Yes)

If only this Condor Ferries safety video was an April Fool’s joke. But alas, the clip — complete with an old British white guy rapping lyrics like “No need to act a fool” — was released a couple of days ago.

While we all love a fun safety video a la Elijah Wood or Betty White for Air New Zealand, this one is more cringeworthy than kitch.

Still, the company seems pretty happy with it: “We’re really proud of the new safety video, it’s been a very fun project to work on, and we’re delighted with the results,” says Alicia Andrews, Condor Ferries executive director. “We wanted something a little bit different, something that our passengers would sit up and take notice of….”

Take notice, indeed. After all, until this piece of stellar film-making, had you ever heard of Condor Ferries?
