This 5-Year-Old Photographer Is Snapping His Way Across the U.S.

In addition to having one on the coolest names ever, five-year-old Hawkeye Huey also has an impressive talent — he’s a nationally known photographer.

As the son of National Geographic photographer Aaron Huey, taking photos is in Hawkeye’s DNA. And for the past 18-months the father/son duo has been traveling around the American West capturing images from Hawkeyes point of view.

They climbed Salvation Mountain, visited markets in the Navajo Nation, and cruised the Las Vegas strip.

“I fell in love with Hawkeye Huey’s photos the first time I saw a set of them, says Aaron Huey.

But the proud papa isn’t the only one who appreciates Hawkeyes talent. He has more than 178k followers on his Instagram account, which Rolling Stone included in their list of the “100 Best Instagram Accounts.” Not too shabby for a kid who just started kindergarten.

In fact, Hawkeye’s photos have garnered so much attention that the family started a Kickstarter campaign to create a photo book. They are currently in the process of creating a photo book using $47,000 raised in a Kickstarter campaign.

When he’s not taking photos, Hawkeye likes to build Lego spaceships & karate chop random sticks in the backyard.
