St. Lucie County, Fla., is having its own personal Shark Week — and not in a good way. Now, we are all for saving the sharks, and we know that attacks on people are rare, but it’s videos like this that chill us to the bone.

Yesterday afternoon, two reef sharks were spotted just feet from the sand line in St. Lucie. It prompted officials to close all the beaches in the area, according to wptv.com.

Experts say that this time of year, these sharks follow bait fish, which brings them (perhaps uncomfortably) close to shore. Reef sharks are not considered aggressive, though they can be if provoked.

Beaches were reopened today in St. Lucie, though sharks were spotted further off shore.
