Take Your Gadgets on the Go —the Best Way to Pack Camera Equipment

The best thing about this bag is that it has a lot of compartments.

You asked and I answered. This is how to pack your camera equipment for your next trip.

I want to start by showing you the bag I use and how I pack the equipment. It’s a Canon bag, not too fancy but very practical. I like that it’s small so I can put it in my carry-on if I need to. It has great zippers; I’ve used it for a long time, and so far no problems. And it also has lots of compartments that are adjustable.

Now on to the equipment

I have a solid camera, a Canon PowerShot S100. It takes good pictures, shoots good video, and has surprisingly good audio. I put it into a little cover — something simple. I look for stuff that isn’t too bulky that I can put in my purse and is easy to open. I put it in there with a charger and extra battery.

Next is my GoPro. I love this camera — it is amazing! It’s indestructible, it has great colors, everything is always in focus, and it’s waterproof. The only bad side is that it’s no good in dark spaces. I pack it with extra batteries, its charger, and some attachments.

I love my GoPro camera.

I usually pack a camera extender so that I can take video of myself. The XShot 2.0 is good and sturdy.

My DSLR is a Canon 60D. I simply place it in a neoprene cover and pack it in the bag.

Next to it I place the power cord, charger, and extra battery. As far as lenses are concerned, I take a 50mm lens and use a neoprene cover to protect it.

Now for my memory cards. I simply put them into a memory-card case and pack it next to a memory card reader.

I also pack a Giottos lens-cleaning kit. I use it to get sand off my lens at the beach.

Finally, I pack my computer and its charger, and my tripod goes at the bottom of the bag.

So that’s my kit. This is what I use to get to the destination, but it’s not what I use to go out and about. I usually just wear my camera or plop the equipment I need in an easy-to-carry tote bag.
