Winter is coming. And that means lots of travel deals for vacationers willing to book during the dog days of summer. Whether your ideal winter getaway takes you away from the snow for a nice beach trip or puts you on top of it for a fun skiing adventure, there are some big winter travel deals this week that you may want to check out. But do so quickly, because one of them ends today!

The Turks & Caicos Collection — a group of three four-star resorts on Providenciales — wants to be your winter destination, and they’re offering a deep discount to entice you. Two of the resorts, Alexandra and Blue Haven, are offering a 10% discount off their regular rates; the third resort, Beach House, is offering a 20% price break. These are three distinct resorts, but all of them offer complimentary perks such as Wi-Fi, parking, and use of pedal bikes, as well as nice waterfront views and, most importantly, an escape from the winter weather. The discount is valid for travel from Jan. 4 until Feb. 5, 2015, and must be booked by Oct. 31, 2014.

If an escape from winter is the last thing you want, take a look at Vail, Colo., where multiple Vail Resorts properties are offering discounts of up to 40%. They include the family friendly resort Keystone (up to 40% for two nights; kids ski free); RockResorts properties Arrabelle and The Lodge at Vail (savings up to 30%); Breckenridge (savings up to $600 or more on a seven-night stay); and Beaver Creek (savings up to 40%). Warning: To get the best deals, YOU MUST BOOK BY TODAY (July 31).

Rome, Italy

Winter’s a good opportunity to go to Rome, where two touring companies are offering special winter packages. Perillo Tours is celebrating its 70th anniversary next year with an early-booking discount: savings of $250 per couple on any of its 2015 tours to Italy, including the nine-day tour of Rome and the Amalfi Coast (Prices start at $3,290 per person, not including airfare; deposit must be placed by Sept. 5). For a more affordable Italian option, TourCrafters has a weeklong winter Roman Holiday package that starts at $1,265 per person (which includes a round-trip airfare from New York to Rome). TourCrafters is also offering a longer, nine-day/seven-night package to Rome and Florence that starts at $1,339 per person. Travel is from Nov. 1 to Dec. 28, so you could spend Christmas or Thanksgiving in Rome. Packages must be booked and paid in full by Aug. 28.

Charleston, South Carolina

The charming Belmond Charleston Place — located in a 17th century residence — is offering a package targeted to a group who might be feeling the post-summer blues: empty nester couples who’ve shipped their kids off to college. Belmond’s “Newly Nesters” package includes a stay in one of the new “Premier” rooms, dinner for two at Belmond’s Charleston Grill, and a continental breakfast for two at the Palmetto Cafe. Rates start at $389 plus tax.  The “Newly Nesters” package is available year-`round but you might still want to hurry: college kids tend to come back.

Rates start at $279 per night; use the rate code “scat” for extra perks and coupons for its restaurant Dolce Italian.
