The Caribbean, the British Virgin Islands, Sri Lanka—just some of the places where a private island retreat is waiting for you.

Calvigny Island
Off the coast of Grenada

The Calivigny Island Beach House combines Balinese and French Colonial design in nearly 140,000 square feet of living space—that's ten bedrooms, various dining areas both formal and casual, a game room with billiards, a huge, fully staffed, professional kitchen, and a stocked wine cellar. The only thing you'll have to do is decide which of six, private white sand beaches to laze around on.

Derwent Island House
Lake District, England

This 1840s Italianate house is located on a wooded island (known in earlier times as Vicar’s island) in Derwent Water. In 1778 Joseph Pocklington bought the island and built a house, boathouse, fort and battery, and a druid temple—he even held regattas at which he fired off his cannon. These days, the house is owned by the National Trust.

The Island Villa
Weligama, Sri Lanka

Balconies, verandas, tropical gardens, an infinity pool, your own private staff and chef—plus, you're on your own island in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Bring your friends—this five-bedroom spread can hold up to ten.

Seagrape Cottage
Little Thatch Island, British Virgin Islands

Little Thatch  is a 54-acre, privately owned island just southwest of West End, Tortola. You can definitely get away from the world here: Stir up a drink from the wet bar and lie back in the hammock, or use the available fishing and snorkeling gear and hit the water. Seagrape Cottage's amenities will keep you from feeling too much like Robinson Crusoe, though: Wi Fi, TV, MP3 player, phone, office facilities, hot tub, and a staff to do your laundry.

Musha Cay

All we need to say is: 150 acres of your own private tropical land, and 10,000 square feet of mansion (split over five houses—five houses!). But if you insist on hearing more about the Exuma Chain island owned by magician David Copperfield, we'll spill. 12 bedrooms, multiple kitchens, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, outdoor showers, steam rooms, saunas, hot tubs, and verandas aplenty, plus butler, gardener, maid, cook, and boatman.

Necker Island
British Virgin Islands

You and your 27 other guests will be completely alone on this isle (which is owned by Richard Branson). Spread out in the eight bedrooms of the Great House and the six private Balinese Houses, lie on one of two beaches, go windsurfing and kitesurfing, take out a kayak, swim in the freshwater pools, or hit the tennis courts (where you can find your own personal tennis coach). There's a staff of 60 to cater to your every whim, even if that's just swinging on one of the hammocks.
