Postcards to My Daughter: Elmo's Visit to Ireland

Whenever I travel without my daughter, Elmo stows away in my suitcase. Lucy is ok letting him leave town (I think it makes her feel better to know I’m not alone). And she gets a kick out of Elmo’s digital “postcards” that I email her from the road.

On a recent visit to Ireland, I spent some time in County Kerry, where my family is from. We went in a horse-drawn carriage, ate at traditional pubs, took a day trip around the Dingle Peninsula. My only regret: Elmo didn’t try out any Riverdance moves. Oh well, there will definitely be a next time because Lucy needs to see the green hills of the Emerald Isle. It’s in her blood, after all.

Here’s a look at some of the highlights from the trip.
