Passenger Removed From Plane Carrying Chris Christie

A passenger was removed from a United Airlines flight carrying New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie from San Francisco International Airport on Friday, delaying the plane’s journey to Boston.

According to the local NBC affiliate, “the flight crew on board United Flight 1108 was alerted about a passenger taking cell phone photos of the crew. Crew members asked the passenger to delete the photos, which he did, police said.”

Another passenger then claimed that the man’s phone also had a suspicious picture on it of a cell phone with wires sticking out of it. The man was then removed from the plane.

Initial reports alleged that the passenger was removed for threatening Chris Christie. Christie’s campaign denied this.

A spokeswoman for Christie’s campaign, Maria Comella, said in a statement to the New York Daily News that Christie had not spoken with the passenger.

“At no point did Governor Christie interact with this passenger nor did this passenger pose a verbal or physical threat to the Governor,” Comella said.

A statement from United said the flight was delayed due to a disruptive customer.
