It’s rare that we actually get to do something good for someone else while we’re traveling on a plane.

Virgin America has announced a new partnership with ONEHOPE wine, a brand that integrates giving back into every bottle sold. ONEHOPE will now be the exclusive wine sold on-board all domestic flights. The two companies teamed up to create two custom ONEHOPE varietals—a Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon—paying special attention to crafting a wine travelers would be able to enjoy at 35,000 feet. Produced in collaboration with renowned winemaker Rob Mondavi, Jr., half of profits from each bottle sold in flight will be donated to help educate women on their risk of heart disease.

“We went through a unique selection process in Napa Valley with our consultant winemaker, Rob Mondavi, Jr., where we tasted four custom blends of both Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay respectively. All of the options were crafted for a passenger’s palate at 35,000 feet up; conscious of the fact that often times wines that taste great on the ground can taste thinner and more acidic in the air.” explained ONEHOPE CEO Jake Kloberdanz.

These exclusive blends will join Virgin America’s new seasonal menus that feature an assortment of sustainable and fresh ingredients, including local fruits and vegetables, premium meats, and artisan breads. To date, ONEHOPE has donated over $1.4 million to partner nonprofits.
