This Hotel is Loaning Out Free Sunglasses to Guests

If you’re the type who loses their sunglasses whenever they travel and you plan to stay in New York this summer, you might consider leaving them at home and staying at the James Hotel – they’re loaning them on the house.

The James, which has a rooftop pool that begs for sunglasses, teamed up with high-end eyewear maker Garrett Leight California Optical, which will be loaning out samples of its 2015 collection to guests. You can simply pick them up at the concierge and return them when you’re done.

This being a business and all, GLCO is hoping you like the sunglasses so much that you want to buy them before you check out: they retail for $315-$395.

While you’re up on the rooftop, you can also borrow an e-reader and peruse some books from famous California authors, all curated by Garrett Leight as part of the promotion. The summer reads include Post Office by Charles Bukowski, Less Than Zero by Bret Easton Ellis, and White Album by Joan Didion.
