WATCH: San Fran-Based Virgin America Flight Celebrates Giants' World Series Win

If you live somewhere on the flight path between Dallas and San Francisco, and you heard some screaming coming from the sky sometime last night, this might explain why.

Passengers on board Virgin America Flight VX717 from Dallas Love Field (DAL) to San Francisco International Airport (SFO) were watching last night’s thrilling Game 7 World Series game, when the San Francisco Giants beat the Kansas City Royals 3-2 to claim its third World Series win in five years.

Virgin America, which is based in San Francisco and is the Giants’ official airline, did its part to send good vibes to the home team the night of the big game. Flight VX717 began with some Giants trivia. And the flight crew handed out orange rally flags to the passengers.

Not that the rally flags were needed. The Giants took the lead in the 4th inning and never gave it back. And when Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval caught a foul ball to end the game and secure the Giants’ victory, passengers aboard the flight broke into wild cheers that likely could be heard 30,000 feet below.

“We couldn’t be more proud of our hometown team,” Virgin America’s Chief Marketing Officer Luanne Calvert tells Yahoo Travel in a statement. “[We] look forward to continuing the celebration during the Parade on Friday back in San Francisco.”

It sure looks like it was a fun flight — except, of course, for any Royals fans who may have been on board.
