Exploring the Northern Territory of Australia with Chef Eric Ripert

The show Avec Eric gives an insider’s view into the travels of master chef Eric Ripert of Le Bernardin in New York City. Avec Eric kicks off its third season with a visit to the Northern Territory of Australia, also known as the “Top End.” It’s a rugged area where the wildlife — crocodiles, wallabies, water buffalo — almost outnumbers the people.

Eric’s adventure begins at Pee Wee’s at the Point in Darwin. There, he meets up with local chef Lynton Tapp, who introduces him to the captivating Wildman Wilderness Lodge. After a boating trip the Mary River, Ripert takes a helicopter to a remote fishing spot where he will try to reel in a prized barramundi… all the while avoiding becoming dinner himself.
