Dubai Decadence: This Is a $817 Scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream

Would you pay $817 for this? (Scoopi Cafe/Facebook)

Looking to cool off and empty your wallet this summer?

Head over to Dubai’s Scoopi Café, an ice cream shop now serving the “world’s most expensive ice cream.”

Though Guinness officially lists Serendipity 3’s $25,000 Frrrozen Haute Chocolate ice cream sundae as the world’s most expensive dessert, much of that cost comes from the 18-karat gold and diamond bracelet, that comes on the side, along with the golden spoon.

Scoopi’s “Black Diamond” dessert has a relatively simple Madagascar vanilla bean ice-cream base. But its toppings are where the money is. The Black Diamond is crowned with Italian truffles and rare ambrosial Iranian saffron, which can retail for as much as $100 per ounce. The dessert also has 23-karat edible gold flakes. The cafe is selling the scoop for 3,000 Emirati dirham, which is $817.

Like its over-the-top sweet predecessors, the Black Diamond comes with a keepsake from the opulent experience — the Versace bowl along with the matching spoon.

As of April 15, just two orders of this decadent treat have been sold.
