#Daydream: Stargazing at Lassen Volcanic National Park, CA

We know how it is. You’re stuck at your desk and the day seems to be going on forever. Your mind starts to wander — at first to “anywhere but here,” but then to exotic, faraway lands where your everyday problems and stress melt in the presence of true paradise. You want to go to there, and we want to go with you. Every day at 3 p.m. Eastern, we’ll send you a picture of the place we at Yahoo Travel are daydreaming about so we can all take that mental vacation together. Let’s go to…

…Lassen Volcanic National Park!! Campers and stargazers, this dream is all for you. Lassen is great to visit any time of year, but since we’ve got a three day weekend, we’re taking advantage and soaking up as much nature and starry night skies as we can. In the Spring, Summer, and Fall, Lassen is perfect for hiking, fishing, birdwatching, horseback riding, and boating. Those aren’t the only times you can enjoy this great park. Lassen has plenty to offer in the Winter months as well. Once temperatures drop and the snow begins to fall, you can go snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Whatever time of year you go, you’ll be sure to see some beautiful stars! While you’re at Lassen, be sure to check out Manzanita Lake, Brokeoff Volcano, Butte Lake, Warner Valley, and Juniper Lake. Enjoy!
