July 14, 2014

We know how it is. You’re stuck at your desk and the day seems to be going on forever. Your mind starts to wander — at first to “anywhere but here,” but then to exotic, faraway lands where your everyday problems and stress melt in the presence of true paradise. You want to go to there, and we want to go with you. …the Gardens of Versailles. This being Bastille Day, we’re in a French state of mind. And these ornate and well-manicured gardens, the legacy of King Louis XIV, give us a French-flavored tranquility. This 1,976-acre wonder and its beautiful 210,000 flowers, 50 fountains, and 200,000 trees make it easy to get lost in a relaxing, green daydream — that is, until we start thinking about all the yardwork we have to do this weekend.
