#Daydream: Acadia National Park, Maine

We know how it is. You’re stuck at your desk and the day seems to be going on forever. Your mind starts to wander — at first to “anywhere but here,” but then to exotic, faraway lands where your everyday problems and stress melt in the presence of true paradise. You want to go to there, and we want to go with you. Every day at 3 p.m. Eastern, we’ll send you a picture of the place we at Yahoo Travel are daydreaming about so we can all take that mental vacation together. Let’s go to…

…Acadia National Park!!! This daydream is for early birds and lovers of nature. We will wake at 4am, rub the sleep out of our eyes, and down some java. Then it is on to Cadillac Mountain. Here we will witness one of the most stunning sunrises our our life. Believe it or not, this is a very popular activity for Acadia National Park travelers. Why you ask? Because it is the first place to see the sunrise in the United States. After the sun’s spectacular rising, it’s off for pancakes at Jeannie’s Great Maine Breakfast. Their pancakes are know to be the best in all of Maine, not just Bar Harbor. Over pancakes and coffee (we could really drink a vat right now!) we decide that the best beach to go to is Sand Beach. Sand Beach is close to Thunder Hole and that is on the top of our itinerary. Thunder Hole is the best place to experience the waves of the sea crash against the shore. Water may spout as high as 40 feet with great intensity creating a thunderous roar. Hence the name: Thunder Hole. There is a lot more on our Acadia National Park bucket list, but for now, we need a nap!
