They say that trust is the foundation of every relationship.  If that’s the case, this couple is on the road to ruin.

A paranoid boyfriend launched a GoFundMe page to raise money so that he could spy on his girlfriend while she was on spring break in Miami. This broke James Bond is named Azel Ball Jr., and thanks to the crowd funding site, the college student from Maryland was able to raise the $330 he needed for the flight to Florida.

Ball started the campaign on March 10 by posting a photo with his girlfriend and a short message on GoFundMe. “If you know anything about Miami, you know that she shouldn’t go without a chaperone,” he wrote. “We have a great thing going and I would hate to see it go down the drain for a little sand and sun.”

He goes on to ask for donations to help save his relationship, and then ends on a creepy note.

“I will be staying wherever she lays her head, eating whatever she eats, and overseeing all parties and fun activity for the duration of the trip,” wrote Ball.

After just a few days on the site, Ball was able to raise the money he needed to buy a plane ticket to Miami on Spirit Airlines. On Twitter, he shared his excitement for the trip and every move of his journey as he hunted down his girlfriend. He eventually tracked her down and posted a video on his Instagram. “You thought this was your trip, this is our trip. We on spring break,” he joked in the video. In response, his unenthusiastic girlfriend quietly replied, “I miss my friends.”

The best part of this story isn’t the fact that these two young lovebirds were reunited on spring break. The best part is the reaction from commenters on the internet. “I can’t believe people are giving him money to stalk his girlfriend,” Keisha Ellis-Carter wrote on GoFundMe.

“My man wouldn’t be my man after a stunt like this… Scary!!!,” Alyssa Fernandez also wrote on the crowdfunding site.

And these commenters aren’t alone in their opinions. Licensed therapist and relationship expert Rachel Sussman says that this behavior could be a major red flag.

“If you can’t trust your partner, then something is wrong with the relationship,” said Sussman. “This could be a sign of possessiveness….we could even call this emotional abuse.”

In the end, Ball got the last laugh. Not only did he end up in Miami, but he got other people to pay for it. He’s either the most insecure boyfriend a girl could NEVER dream of or a genius college student that just got a free spring break.
