Business Travel Etiquette You Need to Know

You’ve been asked to travel for work, and while the idea of an expenses paid business trip might sound awesome, you should keep in mind that you aren’t traveling with your buddies.

No, this is a business trip. And there are a few things you should remember so you don’t make a fool of yourself.

First of all, stay organized. Arrive early for your flight and have all of your travel documents ready to go. If you look stressed just trying to get around the airport, it doesn’t reflect well on your professionalism.

Next, be aware of what you’re wearing. Flying in your sweatpants sounds way better than flying in work attire, but you’ll be pretty embarrassed if all of your colleagues are in in business clothes. To play it safe, wear business casual.

If you’re seated next to your boss on the plane, come prepared to work. That means having your laptop, and work supplies easily accessible during the flight.

And finally, watch your alcohol intake. If you’re at a work dinner and others aren’t drinking, you shouldn’t either. If people are enjoying a cocktail, never indulge too much…no matter what.
