WATCH: Wrinkle-Free Travel — Never Look Like a Schlub Again

The word for today is “Wrinkles” and we’re going to talk about how to get them out of your clothes while you’re traveling.

Obviously most hotel rooms have irons, so that’s the most logical way to get wrinkles out of your clothes. But I don’t even iron at home sooo…

But today I want to talk about wrinkle release sprays!

I’ve seen Downy Wrinkle Release in stores a lot lately. They have this handy travel size, and I travel a lot, so I wanted to know if it actually worked.

I also found a bottle of Wrinkle Wiz at the Container Store promising to do the same thing.

And lastly, I found a recipe online for how to make your own wrinkle release spray using items found in your home. The ingredients include 1 tsp conditioner, 1 Tbsp white vinegar, and 2 cups water.

Then I put all three to the test.

The verdict? Both the Downy Wrinkle Release and Wrinkle Wiz worked pretty well. Not as well as an iron, but they’ll do the trick while you’re on the road.

The homemade wrinkle release spray was a bust. It was quick to make, but just made my shirt spell like vinegar. You win some, you lose some.

Bonus: Another option is buy clothes that don’t wrinkle. From Banana Republic to Chico’s several brands wrinkle –free lines that you don’t have to iron because they have been pre-treated. So, while you’re shopping for a big trip, it’s a good thing to have in mind. It’s also a great investment if you’re a frequent traveler.
