On June 15, 2012, Disney California Adventure, the theme park that is right next door to Disneyland in Anaheim, CA, will explode with action, as Cars Land opens to the public. The much-anticipated 12-acre section of the park is dedicated to all things related to the Pixar movies "Cars" and "Cars 2," featuring three exhilarating new rides that are sure to make kids (and adults, too) squeal with excitement.

Cars Land joins the four other theme lands - Golden State, Paradise Pier, Hollywood Pictures Backlot and A Bug's Land - that make up the California Adventure park, so plan to spend a whole day there if possible, as there are over 30 attractions in all to experience there. Pricing starts at $80 per day for everyone over 10 years old ($74 for ages 3 to 9) for a single park admission; $99 for a "Park Hopper" pass that allows you to go to Disneyland, too, in a single day. There are plenty of other package prices available, making it easy to choose the one that is right for you and your family.

During the summer, both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure parks open early and close late (generally from 8AM to midnight), so there's plenty of time to experience everything that Cars Land has to offer - you can even do some of the rides twice!

As you enter Cars Land, you'll discover that it looks just like Ornament Valley, the desert paradise where Lightning McQueen, Mater, Sally and the other cars live in the movies. But then you'll see the difference, three heart-stopping rides that put you right into the racing action.

Radiator Springs Racers is the big one, a racetrack ride that lets you compete with other thrill seekers as you careen up hills and whoosh down into valleys, take hairpin turns and finish up on a straightaway to victory. Next up is Mater's Junkyard Jamboree, a spinning, twirling tow-truck ride with rollicking music to match; and finally, Luigi's Flying Tires, a wild jaunt inside an oversized radial tire that you get to steer, right off the ground and into the air.

Cars Land also features three themed restaurants: Flo's V8 Café, offering full meals in a sit-down setting; Fillmore's Taste-In, for quick bites; and Cozy Cone Motel, where all the food is part of the pun (think pop-"cone"). There's plenty of entertainment, too, and you might even get wet, as Red the Fire Truck sprays the sidewalk at the Cars Land Courthouse.

Once you've had your Cars Land fun, make sure to check out the other brand-new elements also opening in June at Disney's California Adventure, including the Mad Tea Party extravaganza show in Hollywood Land, the Cathay Circle Theatre and Restaurant and the Red Car Trolley ride on Buena Vista Street.
